Wilson Thelimo Louis is a Haitian-born poet who spent his childhood in the towns of Ile-a-Vache and Les Cayes in the country's southern region. Born on July 3, 1986, in Anse Hainault Grande Anse's department, he developed a passion for social activism and community voluntarism at an early age. As a result, he pursued higher education in public service, earning a master's degree in Public Service from the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, a Juris Doctor degree from the State University of Haiti, and an associate degree in communication/journalism.
In 2015, he ran for Congress but faced targeting and discrimination due to his political affiliation and outspokenness against youth mistreatment, inclusion, and social cohesion. Seeking refuge in the United States, Wilson found the motivation to continue his pursuit of public service and education. He believes that education is the key to achieving one's goals and serving others.
Wilson Thelimo Louis is a committed individual with a great passion for education. He is determined to use his education and experience to positively impact his community and beyond. Wilson Thelimo Louis has taken several English classes at Stevens Academy and the Hyde Park Library in Boston to broaden his horizons and acquire new skills. He earned a nursing assistant certification at K&K in Brocton to test his English understanding. However, his thirst for knowledge did not stop there. He decided to pursue paralegal studies at Boston University, where he gained in-depth knowledge about the legal system.
As part of his studies, he earned a filmmaking and video production certificate from the Community Supported Film (CSFilm) in Roxbury, which has helped him develop his creative abilities. To expand his expertise, Wilson Thelimo Louis also completed tax professional training at H&R Block, which has equipped him with the skills to navigate the complex world of taxation. Additionally, he studied real estate at Freedom Trail Realty School and human service at Goodwill, which have helped him develop a deeper understanding of these fields.
Furthermore, Wilson Thelimo Louis completed court interpretation training at Language Connection in Boston, which has enabled him to communicate more effectively with non-English speakers in legal settings. He is also proud to be a co-founder and chairman of ITIAHaiti, a 501c3 literary, socio-educational, and cultural organization dedicated to reviving Haitian culture. Finally, Wilson Thelimo Louis owns THELIMO Services, where he works as a Haitian Creole editor, English and French translator, notary public, book publisher, photographer, and more. By constantly learning and adding to his skill set, he is well-equipped to tackle any challenge that comes his way.
Wilson Thelimo Louis has an impressive record of volunteer work with various organizations and causes. He has volunteered at Catholic Charities in Boston and for the Development of Haiti, Alliance Française of Les Cayes, Haitian Red Cross, Health and Information Program (PSI-Haiti), and UNICEF. Wilson Thelimo Louis has also worked with the National Advocacy Organization for Individuals Living with Handicap in Haiti. He is a volunteer and founding member of the Haiti National Network of Young Volunteers (RNJV-Haiti). Wilson Thelimo Louis serves as the Executive Director of the Haiti Institute of Technical and Professional Training. Furthermore, he has advocated for human rights with "l'Amicale des Juristes" and has hosted radio and TV programs in Haiti and the US. Wilson Thelimo Louis is also a co-founder and president of a political party called "ITIYAyiti," promoting the "KÒTAKÒT" (Side by Side/Stronger Together) philosophy.
